Business Studies is not about memorising definitions. It is about spotting the idea in a scenario and quoting the proof. The GOAT Notes™
The six components: vision, mission, goals and objectives; organisational culture; organisational resources; management and leadership; organisational structure; the eight business functions.
Organisational culture is the norms, values and expectations that form the business’s personality. At Sunrise it is respect and teamwork.
Two facts, each fact (2) plus explanation (1).
Management and leadership (Lerato planning the day and guiding her bakers) and organisational structure (who reports to whom) complete the list; both come back later.
A: Zinhle hires a new accountant. B: Zinhle’s tablet stores every supplier’s details.
Each statement is 3 marks: the component 2, the quote 1.
Sunrise Bakery. Lerato Dlamini started Sunrise Bakery in Gugulethu with R40 000 of her own savings. She dreams of seeing Sunrise bread on every table in the township. Her aim is to bake fresh, affordable bread every morning for local families. Her six bakers greet each customer by name, because respect and teamwork is how we do things at Sunrise. Last month a large supermarket opened across the road.
Identify and quote is 3 an item: the term 2, the quote 1. Only the first two answers are marked, and the quote mark is withheld when the term is wrong.

It also guides the decisions staff make on their own, so nurses need not ask the manager about every small choice and work is faster.

A large supermarket opens next to Zinhle's spaza shop. Zinhle lists the supermarket as part of her micro environment. Explain why she is wrong. (4)
The supermarket belongs to the market environment. Zinhle has only some influence over it, not full control. It is an outside threat to her shop, so it is not a micro component. Micro components such as her stock and her staff's culture are inside the business and fully under her control.
